I recently finished this piece inspired by Dr. Seuss.
It will be in the silent auction that will take place during Book Expo America next month. The event is presented by the American Booksellers Foundation for Free Expression and the ABC Children's Group at the American Booksellers Association.
The auction will feature a group of original artwork created by artists inspired by Dr. Seuss, whose book, The Lorax, was once challenged in 1989. The BEA auction supports ABFFE's efforts for free speech for kids, including the Kids' Right to Read Project and Banned Books Week.
The auction will be held on May 28, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the River Pavillion of the Jacob Javits Center. Tickets are $105 and may be ordered here. Members of ABFFE and the ABC Children's Group may attend for free.
