Children's Book Sites:

Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators Site - www.scbwi.org
This site has lots of information on the children's publishing industry for professionals as well as people just starting out.

Children's Book Council Site - www.cbcbooks.org
This site also has a lot of children's book information, as well as a list of CBC publishers (which includes many of the major houses). It's very useful for sending out samples or query letters.

Web Design Sites:

Lynda.com - www.lynda.com
This site has oodles of helpful tips, downloads, and books to help you design and create your own web site. Lynda was one of my instructors at Art Center and she is an amazing teacher.

JoeMaller.com - www.joemaller.com
Visit this site, and you'll find detailed information on making java rollovers.
