Fun in the Kitchen

Getting your kids involved in cooking is a great way to spend time together both in the kitchen and at the grocery store.  You can teach them about healthy eating along the way, and if they are part of the process, they will be more likely to eat their food!

You can start as early as pre-school age with easy tasks such as dumping ingredients into a bowl, stirring, putting ingredients on pizza, choosing some of the ingredients to use before you make the dish (e.g. what kind of pasta to put in soup), etc.

Older children can do more complex tasks such as checking off the shopping list, helping to measure out ingredients, and cutting and peeling vegetables and fruit (with supervision).
